ABOUT

On this website, you will find publications on symphonic music production, and academic texts on sound engineering, audio, and music production. Topics range from instructives on setting up recording sessions in different musical styles, capturing techniques, and mixing, among others; to subjects like software development and research on sound science matters such as the use of impulse responses, binaural audio, acoustic measurements as well as studies on sound perception, music, and psychoacoustics. These publications and studies have been developed by the audio specialist Cesar Arévalo in different cities around the world and with the collaboration of countless musical talents, researchers, and experts in the field of Sound.

A career that began with the production of symphonic music in 2015, after spending several months making recordings of various groups of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra (O.F.B.) as part of their practical learning process. These first recordings lead him to capture the attention of this group and by the time he graduated as a Sound Engineer from the University of San Buenaventura, Bogotá, he was linked as a sound engineer for the OFB audiovisual production team, being responsible for the production of more than 60 concerts and participating in more than 200 events of the orchestra and its groups. Since then, the production of orchestral music has not stopped, participating in memorable recordings such as the Latin Grammy-winning production for best classical music album of 2019 «Regreso», by the composer Samuel Torres in collaboration with the Bogota orchestra «Nueva Filarmonía». The production was directed by the great producer Danilo Álvarez, whose influence leaves a constructive mark on the symphonic scope of Cesarte’s production.

In 2018, after participating in an educational project aimed at indigenous communities in the Colombian Amazon, he made a trip to the city of Manchester in the United Kingdom to cultivate more knowledge in the area of audio production, where he directed several productions of local bands in genres such as rock and pop and consolidates many of the research and education projects featured on this website. At the beginning of 2020, he returns to Bogotá with a master of science in Audio Production and an undeniable collection of new projects, initiatives, and ambitions for the future.
